Do I need to carry out a risk assessment for all activities?
No, Only those activities that have the potential to cause harm must be risk assessed. The requirement to undertake a risk assessment primarily comes from the Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999, which require the employer to assess the “risk to the health and safety of their employees”, amongst others. If there is no risk, then there is no requirement to undertake an assessment. If you do have to carry out an assessment, then following the process of risk assessment in this training will get you up to speed very quickly.
