Is fire marshal training a legal requirement?

Yes, Fire safety legislation requires the responsible person (in charge of fire safety within a building) to have an evacuation plan in the event of a fire.  In order to execute that plan the law also requires the responsible person to appoint sufficient trained persons.  This online training course is available to trainees 24/7 and becomes an invaluable source of information.  The number of fire marshals/fire wardens required will be determined by your fire risk assessment.  Ensure that your fire risk assessor is including this information in this assessment.

What does the fire marshal training consist of?

The fire marshal/warden training is a more in-depth training course than the basic fire safety awareness training. It allows the employer to demonstrate that they have trained staff to assist them in preventing fires, assisting with evacuation from the building and where required fighting fires with the use of fire extinguishers.

This training is our most comprehensive fire safety course and therefore there is no need to purchase our basic fire safety awareness training or our fire extinguisher training courses as they are incorporated into this course.  The modules covered (220 miuntes) are as follows:

Once completed you will be able to download a copy of your IFE, CPD, Gatehouse Awards, Institute of Hospitality, & IIRSM  embossed fire marshal/warden training certificate.
