Basic Fire Safety Awareness Training

Basic fire safety awareness training is the minimum training that all employees should undergo in the workplace.

Fire is a major hazard in the workplace and ensuring your staff know what to do in the event of a fire is very important. Our online training course will equip your staff with the right level of information to allow them to act in a manner that will minimise the risk of being injured should a fire occur. Our training also meets current legislative requirements and has been Approved by several bodies including IOSH and IIRSM.

Do I need to offer fire safety training to all my employees?

Yes, you are required by law to ensure that your employees are provided with adequate fire safety awareness training to allow them to understand fire risks in the workplace. This includes what they should do if there is a fire in the workplace and how they can control fire hazards inherent in what they do.

You need to supply this information when an employee is first recruited, repeated periodically and when there are new or increased risks, for example:

  • A job change or new responsibilities
  • New or changed work equipment
  • New technology
  • New or changed systems of work

You’ll also need to train others who will have a more detailed role in relation to fire safety responsibilities. These individuals are known as fire marshals or fire wardens. Details related to fire marshal/warden training can be found here.

What is covered in this training?

This course will teach your employees what they need to know about fire safety risks in the workplace and the controls in place to keep them safe. There are five main course modules:
