If your company uses abrasive wheels, you need to ensure your employees attend an abrasive wheels course
Abrasive wheels are commonly used in many different industrial applications, but without knowing how to properly use them, they can pose a significant health risk. These risks can be from the wheel itself breaking at high speed, getting clothing caught in the spinning motor, or from contact with the wheel itself.
Our online abrasive wheels course can teach you what you need to know to stay in line with current legislative requirements, health and safety practices, and keeping your employees safe from common risks associated with using abrasive wheels.

Do I have to carry out abrasive wheel training in line with specific regulations?
There used to be specific abrasive wheels legislation, but this has been superseded by the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998. This legislation stipulates that anyone using work equipment such as abrasive wheels must be trained in its safe use and competent to use it. Since there are many different types and sizes of abrasive wheels, getting the right sort of training is essential. Have a look at the introductory video that provides a general overview.
To accompany this training, have a look at HSG17 – Safety in the use of abrasive wheels.
